What is Lion's Mane?

Lion's mane mushrooms (Hericium erinaceus) are a type of edible mushroom that is native to North America, Europe, and Asia. They're known for their distinctive appearance, with long, white spines that resemble a lion's mane. 🦁

What are the Benefits of Lion's Mane Mushroom Coffee?

Lion's mane has the potential to do some pretty rad stuff for the body, particularly for the brain and nervous system. They are a rich source of antioxidants and polysaccharides, which -- in layman's terms -- may help to protect the brain and nervous system from oxidative stress and inflammation.

What are the Antioxidants in Lion's Mane Mushrooms?

How to Incorporate Lion's Mane Mushroom into Your Coffee

There are a few different ways to incorporate lion's mane mushroom into your coffee routine:

  1. Pre-blended coffee: One option is to purchase a pre-blended coffee like our As Above - So Below mushroom coffee that already contains lion's mane mushroom.

  2. DIY blend: If you prefer to make your own blend, you can purchase lion's mane mushroom powder and mix it with your own ground coffee beans. The ratio of coffee to mushroom powder will depend on your personal taste and desired level of mushroom flavor.

  3. Syrup: Another option is to make a lion's mane mushroom coffee syrup by simmering lion's mane mushroom powder in water and sweetening it with a natural sweetener such as agave syrup or honey. This syrup can then be added to coffee.

  4. Foraging for lion's mane: If you prefer to forage yourself and blend yourself,  you can harvest lion's mane mushroom, dehydrate them, grind them into a fine powder, and combine it with a roast of your choice.

Does Lion's Mane Have Caffeine?

Lion's mane mushrooms themselves don't contain caffeine. However, our mushroom coffee does, because it's blended with Arabica beans.
